Why Consistency Online Actually Matters (and Why It’s So Hard)
Simple batching strategies for business owners who want better content without the stress.
If you’ve ever sat down to post something on Instagram and immediately gone blank, you’re not alone.
Consistency is essential for building trust, visibility, and engagement with our online audience. But sitting down every day to think up content? That's often the hard part, and a one-way ticket to burnout. (not to mention leading you to really dislike the online space!)
As a business owner, your time and energy are valuable. Which is why batching your content is one of the smartest ways to stay consistent without needing to reinvent the wheel every day.
What is Batching?
Batching groups similar tasks together, allowing you to focus on one thing at a time, and work more efficiently. Instead of switching between different types of work (like writing, designing, scheduling), you dedicate specific blocks of time to one type of task.
While each person has different ways of doing things, batching is the way I like to get mine done.
When applied to content creation, batching becomes a super helpful tool for building a consistent online presence, minus the overwhelm of thinking of one post per day, and having to create, design and schedule one thing at a time.
How to Batch Social Media Content (The Simple Way)Let
Start by defining 3–5 content pillars that reflect your brand and speak to your ideal audience. These help when planning your content so you’re not stuck staring at a blank screen every week.
If you’re a coach, course creator, or service-based business, your content pillars might look like this:
👉🏻 Educational Content
Tips, how-tos, and insights that position you as the expert.
👉🏻 Behind-the-Scenes or Personal
Let your audience get to know you. Show the person behind the brand. People buy from people.
👉🏻 Testimonials & Social Proof
Share your clients’ wins and what it’s like to work with you.
👉🏻 Promotional Content
Yes, you’re allowed to sell 😉 Don't promote yourself all the time, but share your offers clearly - who are you talking to, and how can you help them?
Your Weekly Batching Plan
Here’s how a batching schedule might look based on a weekly content plan.
Monday: Planning: Post topics & writing captions
Tuesday: Designing: Create graphics or record short videos
Wednesday: Schedule everything using a content scheduler
One round of batching = a week (or more) of visibility sorted.
We do it similarly at Nota Bene. All of our content is housed in a big planner inside our ClickUp account. For the majority of our content, it goes like this:
🤯 I take care of the copy side of things. My usual goal is to plan out the entire month in one sitting, but that's just me, and sometimes things don't go to plan!
🖼️ Myself or a team member create images to go with the copy
🗓️ Everything is scheduled in bulk by a dedicated team member.
Benefits of Batching Your Content
Let’s be honest - it’s not just about looking polished. Here’s what batching really gives you:
More time: You're not scrambling every day to post
Better content: You create best when you're focused, not flustered
Less stress: You’ve got a plan, not panic
More consistency: Your audience sees you regularly (and remembers you)
Builds your online presence: What Nota Bene is all about.

LinkedIn - LinkedIn is super easy to schedule posts, whether it's image, carousels or videos.
Set aside a couple of hours each week, batch your content, schedule it, and get on with running your business.
Don't be Afraid to Repurpose or Reuse Content
Post it once and never again? No way! We have a content library set up, where there's a huge catalog of content so that we can come back and use it again, or find other ways to use it. The chance of someone seeing all of your content, all of the time is incredibly tiny, so reuse it. It just adds to your consistency and the strength of your messaging that you don't just say something once. You can tweak and refine it over time, ensuring you are always saying exactly what you need to say.

Finally, You Don’t Have to Post Every Day
Let’s be real: posting every single day isn’t realistic for most small business owners, and it’s not necessary. What is necessary? Having a plan that works with your brain, your energy, and your business goals.
Batching is just one way to stick to that plan.
And if you’d like help creating one that works for your business? That’s exactly what we do at Nota Bene. Let’s talk.
