There’s a lot of people looking into becoming a Virtual Assistant lately, and I completely understand the appeal. I’m fairly new to it, but I’ve learned a heap in the past 12 months, and am 100% sold on my decision that this was the right path to choose.
- Flexible Hours. I like to be able to head out for a walk during the day if I feel like it, and I’m more than happy to work in the evening.
- I wanted to be my own boss.
- The ability to work from anywhere. That hasn’t ended up quite the way I planned with international travel off the cards for the foreseeable future, but I do fancy the idea of parking up in a campervan at some random beach (with internet reception) and working wherever we park up.
- There’s always something new to learn.
- Organising and helping others is my jam.
- I love social media, now I get to use it every day.
- I love writing, writing’s my favourite.
- Being a VA works around my kids perfectly.
- To be able to contribute financially to my family. It really has been the most amazing feeling.
- After 6 years doing cleaning and odd jobs here and there, I wanted a solid profession doing something I loved.
14 or so months in, and I’m so glad I took the leap and made a start. If you’ve been thinking about if being a Virtual Assistant could be right for you, but don’t know where to start, I highly suggest you check out The VA Foundry.
