Been thinking about getting started with a Virtual Assistant, but not sure what will happen?
Sometimes the unknown is enough to put you off taking a big step in business. Your business is like your baby, and handing it over to someone for certain tasks can be more than a little terrifying!! So I thought I would write a quick post on what to expect when looking to hire a Virtual Assistant or Freelancer.
I will use my own process as an example, but most Virtual Assistants that I know use a very similar process.
The Discovery Call
When you first book a Discovery Call with me, this is our first chance to "meet up" and get to know each other. It's the perfect chance to ensure that we are a good fit. Sometimes we won't be, and that's completely ok. If so, I will do my best to point you in the right direction of someone I think will have the right skill set for you.
The Discovery Call is also where we ensure that our expectations are aligned. There is nothing worse than hiring someone and then finding out they can't/don't do the tasks you wanted them for. Let's leave little room for surprises of the bad kind down the track.
The Proposal
At the conclusion of our Discovery Call, if you are wishing to proceed, I will send you a proposal, usually within 24 hours, although I will confirm this at the time of our call.
With your proposal, I will include a thorough breakdown of all tasks we have discussed and include information and pricing for all tasks, whether one-off projects or monthly ongoing tasks. I also will include information on any access I may need - to be added as an admin or provide login details. The proposal will also include detailed instructions on how to set up the access required.
The Agreement and First Invoice
Once I have your acceptance, a formal agreement and your first invoice will be sent, and on receipt of payment and a signed agreement, work will begin. Often we will have a second video call to work through the specific tasks, (for example, planning out the content or topics for the coming month of social media or newsletters)
Let's Get Started
It's as easy as that! As much as I understand how scary it might SEEM, it really isn't, and I always do my best to put you at ease from our first point of contact. I've been through it in hiring my own contractors, so I understand it can feel a bit daunting at first, but just try to focus on how amazing it will feel to hand over tasks that you don't really want to be dealing with, and all that extra time you are giving yourself!
What do you think? Not too scary? Let's book that Discovery Call - www.notabene.co.nz/contact
